Exciting personal care assistant role!2 x Personal Care Assistant(s) wanted - to support a young man (28) living in KT4 (South London) with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) to cover/share 51 hrs @ £13.85 per/hr.Requires a total of 51 hours per week covered, @ £13.85 per/hr. Working up to a maximum of 35 hrs and a minimum of 16 hrs.Looking for 2 x live-out PAs to provide support to a young man (28) with DMD to live an independent life, requiring support with personal care (showering, washing, toileting etc.), domestic support (including cleaning ventilator), work/study and social life. Ability to drive with a clean UK driving licence is essential for this role to drive my WAV.Working up to 4-12-hour shifts across the week (Availability between 7.00 am - 20:00 pm), Wed eve support (18:30 pm-11:30 pm), Sun (16:30 - 21:00/21:30 or 09:30 am - 12:30/13:30 pm) with availability to provide support at evenings and weekends.51 hours could be split as follows:· 1 PA working 35 hrs, 1 PA working 16 hrs· 1 PA working 30 hrs, 1 PA working 21 hrsWorking patterns can be flexible and agreed upon after discussion and based on your availability.++++++++++++Please feel free to comment. I require support with daily tasks, personal care, domestic tasks, social/going out and general support.I need help with personal care, including showering/washing, dressing, toileting, hoist transfers, and overnight ventilation (including daily cleaning of the ventilator, putting the ventilator mask on and turning the machine on/off).I require support with domestic tasks (I like to be clean and tidy!), cleaning my chair, shopping and tasks involved in independently maintaining a household. I require a PA who can support me with cooking and food preparation (although I know how to cook myself and can provide instructions). Having a PA who has cooking skills and enjoys cooking healthy food is essential. I like my food!I need help picking up and moving heavy objects/items as required and when going out, packing and unpacking my bag.I need help with a daily physiotherapy/stretching regime, standing wheelchair, and weekly hydrotherapy. I need somebody who enjoys exercise and sports and who is happy to support me with physiotherapy/stretching. I also require support when I go sailing (you don’t have to get in the boat! - The season for this is between April and September/October).Driving (automatic) is essential for this role. You must have a full UK or EU driving licence. I have a Motability vehicle that you may be able to drive for trips/activities on occasion. However, I can drive from my powered wheelchair for some journeys (I can drive for short journeys - up to one hour).Previous experience in manual handling is necessary.
