Extra hours available and some weekends ideally which can be discussed and agreed.Hourly pay rate:£15 per hour employed rate Self-employed rate TBD.This role is to support this gentleman to mobilise, helping on his weak side when walking. Also, to help in and out of the manual wheelchair and pushing it as needed.This gentleman will also need your support to help him use the toilet due to his weak side. However, focus of this role is to help him participate in the activities that he is passionate about and has been unable to do.Having a sense of humour would also be a bonus. A carer/PA that can drive and has their own car is essential to the role, mileage expenses will be paid and there is free parking at the address.Duties include:Moving and handlingOther relevant duties as requiredTransportationCompanionshipBathroom assistancePersonal Care:Provide support:On my weak left side to reduce/prevent falls when walking.Transferring between wheelchair and car.Folding and lifting wheelchair in/out of car.Pushing him in the wheelchair.On occasion - assistance to put on a coat, gloves etc.Assisting with activity related requirements, e.g. putting on/off life jacket for sailing etc.Assisting with using the toilet.Social:Accompany and assist when accessing social and leisure activities, such as:Sailing (during the season)Fishing (during the season)Football matchesCinemaMuseumsvisiting friends/familylocal visitsshoppingGrabbing a coffeeThe above duties will involve driving in the PA’s car, helping me in and out of the car and taking part in the activities where needed etc.No domestic support needed.Candidate qualities:Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentialityReliable with good timekeepingAble to both follow instructions and work on own initiativeHygienic, tidy and well organisedFit and healthy to undertake the required dutiesPatient and possess excellent interpersonal skillsHonest and cheerfulAble to speak and read English to a reasonable standardAble to always work to high standards of health & safetyNotes:All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives.
